Sr. Insights Analyst — Talent Acquisition Analytics

We are looking for an experienced professional who is capable of structuring ambiguous problems through first principles thinking, diving deep into data to support the planning & reporting cycles, and mentor a cross-functional team to advise leadership on the business growth and productivity strategies.

The goal is to serve the business needs of the entire organization by delivering critical analysis, reporting solutions, self-service analytics, and visualization solutions. You will provide deep insights and reports to support our business leaders. They will use your reports to drive the business forward and guide multi-million-dollar investment decisions. This is a high visibility role that will be interfacing with our business leaders on a regular basis to define the roadmap and gather requirements. To succeed in this role, you will have strong business acumen and experience developing reporting, BI, and analytical solutions as well as an ability to distil data and information into actionable insights.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and engineering teams to define and acquire data necessary to support reporting requirements
  • Build the portfolio for one-time & on-going Insights programs intended to inform planning and operations recommendations across the region
  • Own/direct execution of end-to-end analysis including scoping, design, data collection, analysis, creation of recommendations and presentation of results to senior leadership
  • Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements, research requirements or custom financial and strategic studies that can be taken forward by the functional owners
  • Work effectively across cross-functional teams to drive operations and process/cost efficiency improvements through study results which are accessible to an non-expert audience
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate appropriately, make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus various constraints for the team
  • Put repeatable processes in place that help us aggregate inputs, plan, and manage multiple parallel ad-hoc requests & long-term insights projects and continuously seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process by influencing roadmaps of partner teams
  • Support and develop the roadmap for business intelligence
  • Adopt and implement best practices in reporting and analysis including data integrity, analysis, and documentation

The right candidate will have the ability to define and answer the right business questions that are needed to move various parts of the business forward over multi-year horizons, define and measure the right success metrics for new businesses or initiatives. We are looking for a self-starter who can spot and seed opportunity areas before handing over to others for scaling. Given the evolving space, the ideal candidate will be open to experimentation, comfortable with ambiguity and able to resolve it using first Principle thinking. The candidate will be able to help with problem breakdowns and guide SME’s and BAs. Familiarity with or past experience with HR and/or TA analytics will be a plus. Strong understanding of acquiring and transforming data to drive analysis, ability to use proxies and make reasonable assumptions, triangulate data to create business plans are a must-have. The role will require balancing the ability to think big and be creative while paying attention to detail and data.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
  • Experience working directly with business teams
  • Experience in data extraction and manipulation
  • Experience with BI Platforms (AWS Quicksight, Tableau, Power BI, etc)
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related field
  • High computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets and working knowledge of quantitative, behavioural analysis and statistics.
  • Experience with managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders with varying analytics and data experience levels
  • Proven communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Highly organized, ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance and tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Proven ability to deeply understand business processes and transform those through data

  • Experience in data engineering and automation to build metrics decks, dashboards and BI solutions
  • Strong bias for action, highly organized, and ability to complete projects autonomously and within tight deadlines
  • Confidence in dealing with technical and non-technical senior level staff.
  • Team player with the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations
  • Experience working with cloud data repository services such as AWS Redshift
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to understand business drivers, goals, and actionable outcomes using analytics
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
