Your Responsibilities Will Include
Process and controls
Assist with the design of recon and billing engine testing (in UAT) and the actual testing for VPS as wholesaler and after implementation ensure that daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and reporting is performed.
Assist with the design of the financial process and the actual testing (in UAT) including bank reconciliations, merchant accounts receivables and inventory; and after implementation ensure that daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations and reporting is performed.
Ensuring that invoicing, payments, refunds, chargebacks are correct and the allocation thereof is correct in the accounting records
Ensuring that inventory and Capex is correctly accounted for and that the FinOps team has the correct information at their disposal for reporting and disclosure.
Capture signed off/approved reconciliations on to SAP for payment via MJUT
Read and provide feedback on all relevant Business Requirement Specification documents from Business Analysts to ensure FinOps and business partner requirements are covered
Partner with Financial services and any other FinOps departments to ensure that VSA and Vodafone Policies as well as internal audit requirements are followed and where applicable policies implemented in the VFS business unit.
Be involved in the development and flow of processes from QA to Production;
Work together with Financial Services and FinOps teams to ensure that VSA Policies are followed and applicable policies implemented in the VFS business unit with regard to payments.
Reconciliations Track daily transactional reports and reconcile to bank statements;
Perform monthly/weekly reconciliations required for the acquiring business (not SAP or Cadency recons)
Assist in all relevant business reconciliations between various systems used across the business (refer 1 above);
Ad-hoc resolution of queries related to month-end processing.
Reporting
Prepare all necessary reports whether daily, weekly, monthly or exception reports.
Assist in the design of all necessary reports whether daily, weekly, monthly or exception reports.
Ensure that business requirements are implemented and accounted for correctly in the system, including liaising with the commercial business team, business analysts, IT(Scrum Master) and Quality Assurance;
Reviews of reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with expectations based on business knowledge, also to ensure reporting has adequate information for financial recording and review purposes;
Ensure that processes/costs are in line with the approved business case
Ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Analysis and Other
Analysing reported data for key trends and anomalies. exception reporting to be investigated and resolution of exceptions (with the assistance of the various IT and business teams);
Assist the business in assessing new products and the requirements (IT, Commercial, Controls) from a Financial perspective.
Ensure new products and processes comply with FinOps controls and are working properly both in UAT and post production;
Reviews of reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with expectations based on business knowledge, also to ensure reporting has adequate information for financial recording and review purposes;
Review inventory received documentation
Ad-hoc tasks.
The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have
Bachelor of Commerce degree – advantageous
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years financial experience – essential
Payments/Financial Services industry knowledge – advantageous
Previous ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industries experience an advantage.
