A position has become available for a Sourcing Manager based in Centurion, Gauteng



The successful Candidate will be responsible for protecting and improving business profitability by managing, developing and coordinating related Sourcing functions

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Translates BA’s business requirements and market understanding into procurement strategies, development actions and implementation roadmaps
  • Owns BA procurement performance, spend and delivery against the agreed targets in area
  • Drives product sourcing to execute sourcing strategies to deliver improvements and ensures early involvement in proposal planning1 in close collaboration with Business Partners
  • Drives specific competitiveness improvement initiatives (such as BCC)
  • Drives Supply Based Development exercise within the BA
  • Leads cost reduction exercises in conjunction with relevant stakeholders
  • Drives Localization initiatives and BBBEE preferential procurement requirements
  • Vendor mapping and ownership strategy
  • Lead time reduction and master data maintenance
  • Supplier Rationalisation
  • Manage Price increases within KPI target
  • Meet OTD targets at BA level target
  • Ensure all NCR’s and supplier claims are closed
  • Perform SRM’s for all Tier 1 vendors

  • Reports directly to the Senior Manager, Procurement


  • Ensure alignment between local operational procurement teams, global category team and other BAs
  • Represents procurement in the BA with close collaboration to internal and external stakeholders of the BA
  • Manages project procurement and ensures close collaboration with Delivery

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management/ commerce/ Eng/. MCIPS would be advantageous
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years Procurement experience in Engineering, Mining or Minerals Processing Industry
  • Proven ability to work in a global environment
  • Strong customer focus with ability to balance quality, delivery and price equation.
  • Strong acumen of sales, supply, engineering, finance and business systems

Skills And Abilities

  • Leadership skills, performance orientation
  • Capabilities to support management processes, including strategy process, talent development and performance management
  • Good knowledge and understanding of legal, financial and commercial terms
  • Strong communication skills, adequately addressing all internal & external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of business tools (SAP ERP, JAGGAER Direct, Sievo, PowerBI, Microsoft office products -Outlook, Office, Excel, PPT)
  • Team player and enjoy being part of a dynamic working environment
  • Enjoys working in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact / influence multiple functions globally, ability to work in a team atmosphere and in a multi-cultural / multi-language atmosphere
  • Global mindset – must be able to work across poles to deliver end result
  • Strong sense of urgency, personal ownership of position and willing to go beyond job boundaries
