Sr. QA Manager

Location: North America (Strong candidates in Bristol, UK or Zurich, Switzerland or Prague, CZ can apply to similar role in these locations)

Overview

You will be responsible for leading a team that designs and developments automated test plans for full stack solutions built using GraalVM, Micronaut, OCI, and Graal Tool for Java and Micronaut. You will implement, measure and report on the quality assurance activities of your projects. Your team will develop and execute software test plans; Analyze and write test standards and procedures; Maintain documentation of test results; Analyze test result and recommend corrective actions. You will guide and influence the transformation of the QA function and the adoption of modern, context-driven practices in all quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct manager of team of QA Engineers
  • Scope and plan test activities to deliver top class products
  • Implement test strategies to ensure product completeness
  • Apply the appropriate test methodology for the product under test
  • Document and publish results of scalability tests and test benchmarks
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the testing and bring about improvements of the SaaS and SDLC, liaising with the Engineering teams
  • Lead and mentor team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in SW QA
  • 2+ years of experience as a QA Manager
  • Experience in planning and executing tests for validating the performance of cloud-based SaaS with large throughput
  • Experience in complete SDLC, Agile Scrum, DevOps and Automation of testing including practices like Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, etc.
  • Experience in continuous delivery of micro-services with test automation
  • Strong test data management skills
  • Strong communication and personal skills: work well with members of other functional groups in a project team; demonstrate a strong sense of project ownership

What We Expect From a Suitable Candidate

  • BSc or MSc degree in computer science or related field.
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Good team player, especially in an international team that heavily uses remote communication.
  • Motivation to change the state of the art and push the limits of what seems possible.
  • Expert knowledge of Java, experience with other JVM-based languages (Kotlin, Scala, Groovy).
  • Excellent knowledge of Java microservices frameworks, such as Micronaut, Spring, Quarkus, or Helidon.

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
