Summary of Responsibilities:

A Medical Sales Representative is responsible for the sales, training and related support services of Riverside Medical products within the territory of Jamaica and the Caribbean basin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains customer relationships in assigned product categories and geographical territories
  • Able to perform, quality-manage and optimize laboratory and POC procedures with clinical proficiency and business acumen
  • Educates and informs laboratory and other appropriate customer personnel as to the proper use and maintenance of Riverside Medical
  • Facilitates on-time delivery of products to customers
  • Managing and maintaining a sample inventory of products
  • Solves product problems for customers in a rapid and competent manner
  • Coordinates customer training
  • Aggressively solicits orders from present and prospective customers for the products assigned
  • Strictly adheres to all laws and Riverside Medical policies regarding the interaction with laboratory and medical professionals, product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities and training
  • Keeps respective Sales Manager informed of territory progress on a regular basis
  • Directs product evaluations in clinical and laboratory settings
  • Responsible for successful completion of sales training
  • Other duties may be assigned

Required Credentials, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology strictly required
  • At least 3 years of experience in a medical laboratory strictly required
  • Strong sales and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand laboratory and diagnostic concepts.
  • Ability and willingness to weekends, evenings, and holidays as clients and laboratories require on an emergency basis
  • Keen attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Strong ability to plan and organize work
  • Understanding the importance of policy and procedure in workplace
  • Familiarity with laboratory quality management
  • Ability to independently research new information
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle and active vehicle insurance policy
  • Willing and capable of carrying weights up to 30 pounds, independently
  • CPSM licensure and/or ASCP licensure a big plus; a successful applicant will be required to obtain at least one of these licenses within 3 months of the start date
