Client Details

We have been engaged with an excellent Tier 3 client of ours, due to their fast paced, increased project portfolio, coupled with multiple projects out at tender stage, to seek applications from Junior Project/ Site Managers who have solid & proven experience working on Tier 2/3 commercial small works construction projects.

The successful applicant will be a Commercial GUN, with a strong background of small/light works, joining the construction team. The role will primarily service the Melbourne area but to cover wider VIC. Our client is a modern will provide a wide range of project management, construction and maintenance services including; signage installation, fuel system installation, general and hazardous area electrical installation services, commercial construction and fit out, with a majority of our Project and maintenance contract work in the retail fuel, education, local government, and defence sectors.

Description

Responsibilities:

Working as a Junior Project/Site manager within our clients construction company, your responsibilities will be:

  • Undertaking a range of works including; retail fit outs, cladding, education refurbishment works and signage.

  • A key focus is your ability to manage our current internal resources team and oversight of contractors during the execute and delivery phases of the projects.

  • You will need to take ownership of required web-based project/job management systems and receipt/delivery of web-based e-forms and verification paperwork, this includes a safety, ITP checklists and works verification forms.

  • Responsible for the management of multiple education projects across.

  • Key contributor in the development of procedures and ensuring each of the sites are adhering to them.

  • Holding multiple stakeholders accountable to the project and keeping them on track to the agreed milestones.

  • Inspection of work and major tasks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Running multiple minor works projects ($10-200k per project)

  • Need to be able to scope and quote jobs

Profile

The Person:

  • You will be an experienced trades person, ideally from a tier 2 or 3 builders – looking to move off the tools.
  • Carpentry Certificate. Commercial construction experience.
  • Ability to use a laptop and web-based programs to detail and complete all of the following:
  • Scopes of work based on onsite walk through and discussions with the client.
  • Assist with developing quote – interpreting plans and take off bill of quantities.
  • Checklists & works verification.
  • Site Audit/inspection and report forms. Gather site data for engineering review.
  • Warehouse orders and supplier quote requests.
  • Update and submit HSSE documents – JSA SWMS.
  • Be an effective leader on site delivering project work in an organised and proactive good culture with great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Implementing a strong HSSE focus with personnel under oversight
  • Proactive schedule review and maintenance of long lead time supply items.
  • Willingness to travel interstate.
  • Be self-motivated, and positive problem solver.
