Information Technology Security Specialist

To ensure that its Information Technology (I.T.) systems and resources are appropriately secure The Bahamas Development Bank (BDB) is seeking proposals to perform an audit of our I.T. security policies, practices, vulnerabilities and state of preparedness to detect and prevent intrusions.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements 

The applicant must demonstrate a broad knowledge and experience in providing I.T. Security Auditing Services however this knowledge and experience must include the following: 

1.     Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology;

2.     2-5 years relevant work experience; and

3.     IT Audit Certification (i.e. Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Information Security Manager)

Information Technology Architecture

BDB’s computing architecture comprises of hosted servers including file and applications servers. We have one head office in New Providence and one branch in Grand Bahama. Both locations have 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet  Local Area Networks, using Category 6 cabling, linked to the data centers by a WAN with VPN.

User workstations are Intel-based running Microsoft Windows® 10 operating system. In addition, Microsoft Office® is our office system standard. We have Windows servers and an Oracle server primarily. We also currently use Microsoft Exchange 2019/Outlook 2013 and Active Directory.  The primary network protocol is TCP/IP.

The Bank also has an External Cloud Service Provider that provides the following services: 

1.     Infrastructure as a service 

2.     Co-location services 

3.     Disaster Recovery 

4.     Technical Support

Submissions are to be made to [email protected] on or before 09 September 2021. The subject of the email containing the submission should be entitled: “Request for Proposal – I.T Security Audit” and the email must include the membership and credentials of the review team and the primary contact’s information.

Selection Process

Following the assessment of submissions, a shortlist will be compiled and each applicant thereon will be invited to submit proposals to undertake the assignment. The invitation will contain the full terms of reference.

The organization reserves the right to cancel this invitation partially or in its entirety. The organization will not be bound to assign any reason for not short-listing any applicant and will not defray any costs incurred by any applicant in the preparation and submission of their proposals.
