About The Company

Hutchinsons was established in Auckland in 1914 and is one of the original merchants of branded consumer foods in the NZ retail market. Today Hutchinsons are brand custodians and import and distribute a diverse range of brands including Castello, The Laughing Cow, Vegemite, Tilda and McVities, along with their own/licensed brands such as OXO, Trident and Hutchinsons Cheese. They have been in significant growth over the past few years and are always looking to bring on new brands to expand their diverse portfolio.

About The Role

Reporting into the General Manager the Head of Sales will be responsible for leading a team across National Accounts (Foodstuffs & Woolworths) and Field Sales (through a National Field Sales Manager) to drive strategic initiatives to deliver sales & financial targets. This is a commercial role within the business working closely with your Key Accounts team to implement strategic customer plans and drive business development initiatives as well as successfully enhancing key customer relationships to build collaboration and partnership. You will also work closely with your National Field Sales Manager to formulate the field strategy, making improvements in efficiency and performance to delivery & execute the sales strategy at a store level.

This position also sits on the NZ Leadership so will have a broader impact and influence across the Hutchinson’s business in terms of strategy, growth, performance, culture etc

About You

We are looking for someone from a strong FMCG sales leadership background with knowledge & relationships across Foodstuffs & Woolworths and experience leading high-performing sales teams.

You must be results focused, have got to be savvy, commercial and intellectually agile, have a great team attitude, be composed and customer focused. Naturally you will be good with numbers and have an ability to translate insights into actions. Your time management skills will be strong – being organised and unflappable will be obvious!
