Finance Manager, Regulatory Reporting

The Finance Manager, Regulatory Reporting is a member of the Finance Team of the Managing Director’s Office for Caribbean North (CN) which includes The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, and The Cayman Islands; but is responsible for key duties specifically for Bahamas and TCI operations.

 

The role of the Finance Manager, Regulatory Reporting is to provide management oversight of all regulatory reporting requirements and ensuring that all changes are communicated to relevant stakeholders, and appropriately implemented within required timelines. The incumbent has responsibility to lead and implement all Regulatory initiatives, new guidelines and requirements and managing and developing the regulatory reporting team to ensure improvements and sustainment in the area of regulatory reporting, including regulatory capital management, planning and stress testing/scenarios.

 

Key Accountabilities for this role:

  •  Provide management oversight and direction for all regulatory reporting for all assigned entities which include all filings with the two (2) main banking regulators (Central Bank of Bahamas and Turks & Caicos Financial Services Commission);
  • Review and facilitate all remediation of issues from Regulatory Inspections where applicable;
  • Interpret and implement all Regulatory Reporting requirements;
  • Manage planning of stress testing in line with internal policies and Central Bank guidelines;
  • Ensure that there is adherence to and adequate documentation of regulatory reporting procedures and processes ;
  • Implement processes to continuously enhance productivity and controls in the area of regulatory reporting;
  • Provide representation internally and externally, as a Regulatory Reporting Specialist and play a lead role in any Central Bank initiatives, new guidelines/requirements for comment and responses to surveys;
  • Independently develop proposals based on emerging regulatory reporting requirements and make recommendations to the Finance Director regarding implementing reporting, procedural or systems changes;
  • Implement strategies to motivate both individual and team excellence and provide coaching to direct reports;
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing and bank policies and procedures, for all products and services and customer transactions, are met in accordance with Bank policies.

Educational Requirements:

  •  Formal Accounting Designation or equivalent financial reporting experience;
  • Thorough knowledge of a broad range of financial disciplines with focus on regulatory reporting and, accounting policies, application systems and corporate governance.

  

Functional Competencies:

Strong understanding of the regulatory reporting requirements in The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos;

Strong Analytical skills;

Expert time management and organizational skills;

Excellent written and oral communication skills;

Excellent interpersonal skills and proven leadership ability to coach and develop staff;

Excellent understanding of the financial markets and local economic, political, social, investment and business environments;
